A gold-mounted silver Imperial presentation cigarette case, decorated with tapering flutes on either side, applied with a gold double-headed eagle, with gold-mounted cabochon sapphire thumbpiece.

Gabriel Niukkanen (Nykänen) ran an independent goldsmithing workshop between 1898 and 1912, acting as an occasional supplier to Fabergé. Niukkanen was best known for his production of fine gold and silver cigarette cases, many of which were made as Imperial presentation pieces.
