A silver cigarette case with a hinged lid and a silver push-piece, the lid engraved with an intertwined monogram ME, the top right corner chased with a grotesque bearded mask with bat-like wings and acanthus scrolls issuing from its mouth. The gilt interior on both sides is stamped with K.Faberge in Cyrillic beneath the Imperial warrant, St. George slaying the dragon – the coat of arms of the city of Moscow, 84 – Russian silver standard and poorly stamped initials of the assay master over the assay year of 1891.
