An ormolu mantel clock in the Neo-Renaissance style, the domed top surmounted by a putto finial and resting above an architectural case inset with ‘jewelled’ Sèvres-style turquoise ground porcelain plaques finely painted with the four seasons, the breakfront canted base beneath fluted pilasters mounted with seated angels, the twin-barrel movement with count wheel strike on bell, the dial signed ‘Raingo Fres/ Paris’, variously stamped 1555, the underside inscribed ‘1555 a picard’.
