An icon of the Nativity of the Mother of God with scenes from the Lives of Joachim and Anne, righteous parents of Mary. The main composition depicts Blessed Anne giving birth to Mary whilst maids approach her with offerings. Above are praying Joachim (on the left) and Anne (on the right) and the Meeting of Joachim and Anne at the Golden Gates (centre). To the right are Joachim and Anne cradling the infant Mary. Below midwives are shown washing the newly-born child. At the top centre is a medallion with an image of blessing Lord Sabaoth.
