The silver-gilt bowl of heavy gauge by Gabriel Sontag (active 1747-1780), embossed with fruit between three scroll-edged silver cartouches, depicting respectively a small building on a hill with tree in foreground, a man fishing beside an overhanging tree with marble columns to one side and two men in a boat with trees to left. Gilt interior, base engraved with monogram of the owner and a large zig-zag assay scrape.
