Art Nouveau sterling silver and enamel jardiniere embossed with fish-shape design executed by Koch & Bergfeld after Albin Müller’s design. The use of the word ‘Sterling’ indicates this piece was probably intended for export to the United States.

In the 1900’s, the firm made a remarkable contribution to the history of applied art playing an important role in the development of the Historicism and Art Nouveau movements in Germany. Koch & Bergfeld executed designs by Hugo Leven, Albin Müller and Henry van der Velde (Krekel-Aalberse).
