Nielloed silver-gilt snuff-box; the top of the box shows Falconet’s Peter the Great Equestrian Statue in an architectural setting; the composition on the reverse depicts a view of the Old St.Petersburg Stock Exchange and Rostral Columns seen from the river Neva. Another box by Maksimov is in the State Historical Museum in Moscow. Inside the lid is engraved with Cyrillic initials A.F and date 1840.

 

Fyodor Maksimov (Posnikova-Loseva 2961) was active between 1823 and 1862.
